RAKKE

A mother and son who clash while dancing and making music together. With RAKKE (“argument” in West Flemish), we invite you into a story inspired by our personal quarrels. Conflicts quickly erupt into a symphony of anger, pain, and frustration, effortlessly modulating into a noisy cacophony. What follows is the release: shame, sorrow, and fear.
Conflicts within families often keep coming back because old patterns repeat themselves. Unspoken expectations, tensions between freedom and control, or a child who took on too much responsibility all play a role. The changing roles between parent and child over time also make these patterns hard to recognize or break.
An honest and personal story, recognizable to many.
