Biography
Hi! My name is Louis Thuriot, and I was born in 1996 in Aalst, Belgium. I pursued my passion for dance at Codarts, where I earned a Bachelor of Dance degree. During my studies, I completed an internship with PDC by Club Guy and Roni, which provided invaluable experience and insight into the professional dance world.
In 2018, I joined TanzMainz, where I had the privilege of collaborating with incredible colleagues and artists. This experience allowed me to grow both as a performer and as an artist. In 2022, I moved to Opera Ballet Flanders in Antwerp, where I had the honor of working with renowned choreographers like Alain Platel, Jan Martens, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and many more inspiring talents.
In 2024 I left Opera Ballet Flanders and started my career as a freelancer. In June 2025 I’ve been lucky to have received 6 awards at RIDCC (Rotterdam International Dance Choreography Competition) & Hannover Choreography Competition, giving me opportunities to pursue my career as a creator.

Performer
I began dancing quite by accident at the age of sixteen, when I entered the Art School in Brussels. What started as curiosity quickly became a deep love for performing. I still feel incredibly fortunate that I get to explore my body and mind every single day.
For me, the magic of performing lies in the honesty of the moment. That space where imagination, physicality, and presence meet. On stage, I feel as if I’m having a quiet conversation with the audience, one built on trust rather than perfection. Sometimes this brings power, sometimes humor, sometimes vulnerability, but always a sense of freedom.
Creator
As a choreographer, I am searching for ways to bring poetry to the stage through both the physical body and the active, imaginative mind. I’m particularly interested in seeing “real” people on stage, not just trained movers, but individuals bringing their thoughts, their honesty, and even their humor into the work.
I encourage performers to explore new pathways inside their bodies and to let their inner world shape the movement: the flow of thoughts, the sincerity of intention, the spark of play or imagination. This is where the work becomes multi-dimensional, when you witness someone moving from the inside out, giving meaning to their gestures, the space they inhabit, and their connection with others.
Teacher
The aim is to gently unlock something in both the body and mind during each workshop. Through floorwork, improvisation, imagination, and playful tasks, I aim to guide you towards a curious and open state.
Throughout the class, I observe with care to notice where tension or hesitation might sit, and together we look for new entry points into movement. This may mean strengthening certain areas, improving coordination, or simply inviting more honesty and ease into your dancing.
